Product Overview
Bowden Cable Assembly is a flexible mechanical control cable with an inner cable running through an outer housing. It is used where movement needs to be transferred around bends, through equipment frames or between a control point and a moving component. For procurement, the most important details are the cable route, movement stroke, housing style and terminal geometry at both ends.
Common Configurations
- Inner cable with black flexible housing
- Stainless steel or galvanized inner cable with PVC, PU, PE, PA or TPE housing
- Threaded terminal on one end and eye, hook, barrel or clip terminal on the other end
- Cable assembly with adjuster, bend tube, spring, end cap or custom sleeve component
- Drawing-based replacement cable matched from a physical sample
Material Options
Comparable Bowden and control cable assemblies use galvanized steel, stainless steel or carbon steel for the inner cable. The outer housing may use PVC, PU, PE, PA or TPE depending on routing, bend radius, appearance and environment. Final material selection should be confirmed from the drawing, sample or target application instead of choosing from a generic catalog line.
Fitting Options
Typical end fitting choices include threaded terminals, eye terminals, barrel ends, hook ends, clips, end caps, screws, bend tubes, adjusters and springs. Buyers should provide close-up photos from both sides so the end geometry, thread direction, hole size and fixing method can be matched correctly.
Application Notes
Bowden cable assemblies are commonly requested for throttle, choke, mechanical control, small equipment actuation and replacement cable projects. For a replacement project, the original cable route and the free movement length are as important as the total cable length.
RFQ Information Required
- Product name or nearest existing sample
- Overall length, housing length and exposed inner cable length
- Working stroke or travel distance
- Inner cable diameter and housing outside diameter
- End fitting A and end fitting B photos or drawings
- Application, routing path, quantity and packaging needs
Specification Note
Available configurations are confirmed according to cable diameter, material, fitting type, coating and application requirements.
