Housing Length, Inner Cable and Stroke
Record the housing length and exposed inner cable length from labeled reference points. Then describe the working stroke or travel distance and the neutral position if the cable operates a lever or mechanism. A route sketch should show the casing ends, bend direction and the points where the housing is fixed.
Terminal Type and Routing
Photograph both inner cable terminals and casing-end hardware, including threaded adjusters, barrel or ball ends, eyelets, hooks, bend tubes, springs and ferrules. Include the equipment-side bracket or actuator so the terminal orientation and route are reviewed together.
