The goal is not to add more dimensions; it is to make each required dimension traceable to a face, centerline or installation reference.

1. Freeze the drawing identity
Before reviewing dimensions, confirm which document controls the request:
- Drawing number or internal reference.
- Revision and revision date.
- Change description or open change note.
- Assembly orientation and view direction.
- Related sample, photo set or application document.
- Buyer contact or internal owner for unanswered points.
An old drawing can look complete while still describing a previous terminal, housing or length. Put the revision information on the first page or in the RFQ message so later comments refer to one controlled reference.
2. Define length reference points
“Overall length” is not enough when a cable assembly contains housing, exposed inner cable, terminals or adjusters. Mark the two reference points used for every length dimension.

3. Review the cable and housing definition
Record the cable information that is known and identify the source of each value:
- Wire rope or inner-cable diameter.
- Construction or material description where supplied.
- Coating type, color or finished outside diameter where relevant.
- Housing or casing material description where supplied.
- Housing length, end supports and mounting points.
- Bend route, clearance and the tightest installation area.

4. Show End A and End B clearly
End A and End B should be visible in the same orientation across the drawing, sample and photos. For each end, show the mating interface and the reference face used for dimensions.
Check for:
- Eye, loop, ball, stop, threaded or clevis-style geometry where applicable.
- Thread or pin information supplied by the buyer.
- Mounting bracket, adjuster, locknut, boot or housing seat.
- Connection centerline and installation direction.
- Clearance around the terminal during movement.
If the two ends are different, do not shorten the labels to “left” and “right” unless the drawing orientation is fixed. End A / End B remains clearer when the assembly is viewed from another side.
5. Treat tolerances as buyer-defined inputs
Include tolerances that the buyer has defined or that the drawing requires. Do not invent a Gosor tolerance capability or promise a fixed result in the article. Instead, identify the dimension that needs tolerance discussion and provide the application reason.
Useful notes include:
- Which length affects installation fit.
- Which terminal dimension affects mating hardware.
- Which coating or finished diameter affects clearance.
- Which movement or stroke affects machine operation.
- Which open value can be confirmed from a sample.
This makes the RFQ actionable while keeping unsupported engineering limits out of public copy.
6. Add sample and application evidence
A drawing is stronger when the buyer explains how the cable is used. Add:
- Installed application photos or a route sketch.
- Sample photos with End A / End B labels.
- The machine or assembly interface the cable must connect to.
- Movement direction, neutral position and stroke/travel where applicable.
- Environment, coating or handling notes supported by the project.

7. Prototype versus production context
State whether the request is for a prototype, a replacement, a pilot batch or repeat production. The context changes the useful RFQ details:

- Cable, housing and coating fields are separated.
- End A and End B interfaces are shown and labeled.
- Stroke, travel or neutral position is defined when applicable.
